When I first learned of Christy Dawn's Farm-to-Closet initiative, I was in awe! I have been passionate about sustainability, especially in the fashion industry, for many years now. While sustainable practices are so important, I often found myself questioning if it was enough- weren't we still taking from the Earth, in the end? It is a tough question to wrestle with as someone who has always had such a love for fashion and expressing myself through my personal style.

Learning about regenerative farming, and how Christy Dawn is bringing this revolution to fashion, has been an answer to my question and something completely inspiring to me. Regenerative farming is a solution I see bringing hope to our climate issues and I am grateful that Christy Dawn is pioneering this in the fashion industry. I now work for the brand and feel so lucky to be a small part of the work they are doing , and to witness the genuine passion and value for Mother Earth behind it.

How Would You Describe Your Style?

You can almost always find me in a cute and comfy dress paired with sneakers. My perfect outfit. I would describe my style as a little bit casual and a little bit boho. I gravitate towards neutrals, though I am recently trying to incorporate more color here and there :)

How Do You Honor Mother Earth?

I try to honor Mother Earth by being mindful of how I live in all of the little and big ways. I aim to be mindful of each purchase I make, and support brands and makers who share the same values for our planet. There are so many ways of living I hope to grow into as well - purchasing my food from the farmers market, composting, I hope to purchase a bike someday and ride more than I drive, and continue to eat plant based as much as possible. Educating myself on climate issues as well as learning about all of the creative solutions and ways to care for the Earth is another priority for me. Currently, I have on my list to watch the "Kiss the Ground" documentary and read "Braiding Sweetgrass", a Christy Dawn team favorite.
