Cyclical Insights

Traditionally in several native cultures, this Moon is known as the Corn Moon, the Green Corn Moon, and the Barley Moon. This Moon cycle signals us to begin preparing for harvest and the colder months ahead. However, bright and bold abundance is clearly visible now with the peak of Summer — the lakes are filled with fish, and so this Moon is also known as the Sturgeon Moon. Lughnasadh or Lammas is August 1st, the ancient holiday of harvest that marks the halfway point of the Summer Solstice and Fall Equinox. How has this Summer season been for you? Midway markers help bring mindfulness and gratitude for what has manifested thus far and bless you with another half a season to fulfill your aspirations.

Self Reflections of This Moon

Feather

As we honor our journey at the midpoint of Summer, we are called to bask and enjoy the Sun’s peak potency, but we also begin to conserve and bring awareness to Fall’s harvest on the horizon. Communicating with our communities as we prepare for the colder and less abundant second half of the cyclical year, we reflect on how we shall work together for the common good. Gratitude for hot days and warm nights lift spirits and open us up to beautiful outward expressions.

You are gold and vast riches lie within, the Summer Sun is ready to reflect your light!
