Krystel Cárdenas is an Ecuadorian artist based in Barcelona. With a background in architecture and textile she’s been recently exploring the possibilities of wax and candle-making as a new language in her practice. Krystel’s candles are meant to be lightened into the ethereal. With three to five flames burning at the same time, hidden wicks becoming strings of fire, melting wax pouring into new unadverted forms, the piece is only complete once burned in a ritual of ephemeral beauty.

100% beeswax candle + organic pigments
Cotton Wick
Length - 16"
Please practice fire safety and never leave your candle unattended. Keep in mind this is not a regular candle and multiple flames can be burning at the same time
If needed don’t put fire out with water but suffocate with a piece of cloth
Place on a non flammable flat surface by slightly melting the bottom of the candle and fixing it into the desired base. The surface needs to be bigger than the candle at all sides so it can catch any wax drops/small falling flames. If using a candle holder keep in mind it’s made of a non flammable material and it rests on top of a bigger base below.
