New Moon - July 2nd & Full Moon June 16th
Make Your Joyful Noise, the Summer has arrived! Your Outermost Self has its time to Shine!
Traditionally, in several Indigenous Cultures, this Moon is known as the Buck Moon. This is the first moon cycle of Summer and it shows us that change is here. Like the fresh antlers that appear on the young buck, the arrival of something cultivated quietly during the past season shows its presence and new strength becomes visible!
We are at the beginning of the second chapter of the year. A fresh start for something new is here. What would you like to manifest with the bright rays of the sun supporting you?
This June Moon is also known as the Thunder Moon, with thunderstorms brewing throughout various places. Thunder can awaken you with awe, inspiring clarity instantly, and illuminating wonder throughout this cycle.
What would you call this moon based on where you live and what you are noticing?
Themes Of This Moon
Adaptation - Illumination - Community - Warmth
Lemon Balm: is a perennial herb from the mint family and has been used in traditional medicine for its calming effect. It’s been commonly used to soothe anxiety, restlessness, and sleep disorders.
Moonstone: a powerful stone for new growth (like a pair of new antlers) and inner strength, allowing you to hone in on your intuition, providing balance and stability.
Strolling & Dancing
Hot, Sunny, Clear
Holly - This tree with its sharp pointy leaves and deep red berries is steeped in mysticism and symbolism. Holly represents truth and protection in several cultures and in Christianity is commonly associated with the crown of thorns. This tree represents Lughnasa (the midway point of Summer and the festival of Harvest). The Holly tree and its wood are also associated with “casting spells of magic” and is the origin of why the famed town is called “Hollywood.”
Water Lily/Lotus - a symbol of enlightenment through purification and transformation, as the beautiful bloom emerges from the dark unseen mud.
