How It Works
Pack It
First, clean out your closet! thredUP accepts gently used, high quality women’s and kids’ clothing, handbags, shoes, and accessories. These items must be unaltered and free of stains and damage. (You can find a selection of the brands thredUP accepts here.) Once you have your selling pile ready, pack it into any box or shipping bag.
Ship It
Next, you can request a prepaid shipping label from thredUP here. Affix the shipping label to your package, and drop it off at any USPS or FedEx Office location.
Earn Credit
From there, thredUP takes care of the rest, and they’ll reach out to let you know the value of your goodie bag! For a limited time, you can earn an extra 15% in Christy Dawn shopping credit. For example, if thredUP values your items at $40, you’ll receive a Christy Dawn gift card for $46.

Overwhelmed at the thought of tackling your closet? Here are a few ways to get started.
Piece by piece
Start with a drawer or section of your closet, put everything on the floor, and pick each piece back up with intention. Think to yourself—when was the last time I wore this? Does it still excite me? Could I see myself parting with it? By the time you’re done, you’ll have cleaned and organized your space, and probably found some things you don’t wear anymore.
Make a game of it
Set a timer and a goal for yourself. Can you find 5 things to sell in 5 minutes?
Try stuff on
I know there are pieces in my closet I haven’t worn in years. Sometimes it can be helpful to put these clothes on and wear them around the house for a few minutes. Is it comfortable, or are you itching to take it off again? If you like the way it looks on the hanger, but don’t actually enjoy wearing it, it’s time to let it go!
Put it away for a while
I recently filled a storage bin with things I haven’t worn in awhile. I let a few months go by, then I emptied the bin. I asked myself—did I actually miss any of these pieces while they were gone? Am I excited to wear any of them now that I have them again? I found quite a few pieces to sell!
Have a clothing swap
At Christy Dawn HQ, we decided to team up! We cleaned out our closets and brought bags and bags (and bags!) of clothes into the office, taking turns showing off the goods and seeing if our old pieces could be someone’s new treasures. Anything that didn’t find a home by the end of the swap, we sent to thredUP! We’ll split the profits and put them toward a group lunch to celebrate our sustainability.
