“No matter how a piece of clothing looks, it cannot be considered beautiful if, in producing it, the environment is destroyed or people are exploited. When deciding on what to wear, we all have an obligation to consider how it’s made and the impact that process has on the planet and its people.”
The green fabric we used is rescued deadstock fabric that was left over from a larger fashion house. By using deadstock fabric we save hundreds of thousands of gallons of water annually and keep the planet clean. We recommend eco dry cleaning this fabric.
“I had some basic sewing skills before but the floor manager, Adan, really taught me how to sew.” Elmer’s favorite part of the dressmaking process is learning new styles. He especially likes to feel like he’s constantly growing his knowledge about the sewing process and the fashion industry in general. He’s been with Anteliza for almost two years now, and his favorite part of the workday is when he gets to practice his foosball skills during breaks. He also plays soccer but he doesn’t think his soccer skills have helped his foosball skills much, although he’s hoping they’ll translate soon!
