Mother Earth is a powerful teacher. We look to her for guidance, celebrating her beauty and resilience throughout our entire process. From the start, we've aimed to tread lightly, to produce sustainably, and to Honor Mother Earth with every decision we make. We use both leftover fabric (called “deadstock”) and new, organic cotton to create each of our designs. We have production centers in Los Angeles and India, where we are working toward creating a fully regenerative fibershed. Our talented team puts care and intention into each seam they sew. Speed is the last thing on their minds; we ask them to take a deep breath, slow down and create something they are proud of.

Our dresses are made from rescued deadstock fabric that was left over from larger fashion houses. By using deadstock fabric we save hundreds of thousands of gallons of water annually and help keep the planet clean. When we purchase deadstock, the fabric content is rarely known. For this reason, we are only able to give you our best description of the fabric; the Carmine Calico feels like a soft rayon challis and eco dry cleaning is recommended!

Pedro | Basil Carmine Calico

“I’m working to be the best foosball player in the factory.”
This is Pedro, or “Pedrito”, as we call him. He has been working here since June of 2017. He began in our finishing department, but has since been promoted to the single needle machine! Pedro makes dresses like the Azalea, Bergen and Anya Dress. He’s quick to brag about his daughter and his step daughter, as well as his foosball skills! He spends most of his lunch break practicing and sometimes even stays after work to get a few more games in.
