“No matter how a piece of clothing looks, it cannot be considered beautiful if, in producing it, the environment is destroyed or people are exploited. When deciding on what to wear, we all have an obligation to consider how it’s made and the impact that process has on the planet and its people.”
Our dresses are made from rescued deadstock fabric that was left over from larger fashion houses. By using deadstock fabric we save hundreds of thousands of gallons of water annually and help keep the planet clean. When we purchase deadstock, the fabric content is rarely known. For this reason, we are only able to give you our best description of the fabric; the Night feels like a rayon and eco dry cleaning is recommended!
“I’ve won the ping pong tournament two times; I’m pretty sure I’m the best player here.”Cristobal has been working with Christy Dawn since mid 2017, but he’s been in the industry for 18 years. When he first came to America, he made it a goal to learn how to sew, and pretty soon he was working on Christy Dawn dresses with the best of them. His wife, Elvy, also works at Christy Dawn; he brought her in after he realized how much he liked working for the company. He credits the environment as being the best he’s ever worked in, especially loving how there isn’t a lot of pressure. People work at their own pace, he says, and do the best they can. His favorite part of the day is being able to travel to and from work with his wife, and having that time to spend together.
