The Camille Dress is a delicate boho-inspired midi dress that hits just above the ankle. With pintucks at the breast and elongated balloon sleeves, she's beautiful, flowing, and so comfortable to wear. This particular Camille is only the fifth we've ever released, and we were able to price her at $198 instead of what she's always been: $288. In order to pay our dressmakers a living wage, we price our dresses at 3x the production cost. This cost includes fabric, sewing time, trim, rent and utilities. The price of fabric can be quite costly. The Camille Dress uses 4.3 yards of fabric, and she's previously been made in fabrics that cost us, on average, $8.50 per yard. We lucked out with this beautiful Night Chintz rayon georgette—we were able to source it for only $1.50 a yard, meaning we could cut the production cost on each Camille Dress by $30! Given our 3x model, we were able to lower the retail price of the dress by $90. It's a beautiful opportunity—and one we're so excited about—to pass that savings along to you, and make slow fashion available to more people.

Mother Earth is a powerful teacher. We look to her for guidance, celebrating her beauty and resilience throughout our entire process. We root through piles of leftover fabric called “deadstock,” and when we find fabric we love, our team of artisans cuts, sews and finishes each piece in our Downtown LA factory. This talented team puts care and intention into each seam they sew. Speed is the last thing on their minds; we ask them to take a deep breath, slow down and create something they are proud of.
